Michael M. Weinstein
Memory Palace
I’m home : sugars grit
against my teeth
the ceiling fan revolves
like a fly circling in slow
compulsion a spot
of human blood
over the baby
blue wallpaper
and in a fake wood frame
on the nightstand
there is a little
girl child in yellow
overalls taking a
plastic clock apart
unsmilingly with
my same eyes
Michael M. Weinstein is a doctoral student in English at Harvard and a graduate of the creative writing program at Northwestern University. The recipient of a Fulbright grant to Russia, he is also a freelance literary translator. He lives in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
