S. Jordan
Diachronicity
in kismet three summers ago you tried to kiss me
but it was the height of inappropriate and I beat
you to the pulp in an orange juice container
that shock that disbelief that fucking astonished―
afterwards you walked to the market and I
went to the docks to see what the children reeled in
one hundred and six days ago we sat on the floor
in your childhood bedroom and transferred fragrances
while your mother cooked dinner two floors down
meanwhile
S. Jordan graduated from Bryn Mawr College where she studied literature and art history. Her poems have or will appear in Clare Literary Journal and the Cider Press Review. She currently lives and writes in Mystic, CT.
