Anis Mojgani
5 Months
Every corner of my heart loves you
In a field of fields you are the largest field
In a field of moons you are the most moons
6 months
This is how I love you today
99 red flowers in a gloved hand
Leaves the same color as honey
Seeing Orion dangle in the night
Holding a bowl of soup with two hands
The astronomy of the jungle
with regards to Lorca’s, Poet in New York
I saw you in the mouth of the snowfield
you were a fable of mountains
a child and a hairbrush
some part of your ear
whispered into itself
prepare your heart
my heart took the shape
of whatever preparations your heart took
sitting under a tent made of shining and soft ribbons
prepare your skeleton your heart told me
I told your heart to prepare itself
it took the shape of an ankle
my heart took the shape of a shoe
cradling your water
it bent in closer
took the shape of two cupped hands
a hairbrush
with a mother of pearl handle
moving through the hair you took shape as
long black texas hair brushed after a bath
so long so wet so smooth so black
a river flowing down your back
