Thomas Renjilian
Escapes
Endless rusty shout,
sallow grey of autumn’s end,
scrape of fallen leaves.
I’ll wear the black north,
face still as plaster cast, beg:
knead me a new form.
Oil can, motor rust,
I’ll lie, insolvent, watching
sunset’s streak of rash.
Street-lit hale won’t stop
impaling unprinted snow.
Body heat and gleam,
I’ll dream my body
rises, drips lake salt, runs:
streaker new as moon.
Thomas Renjilian is a queer writer originally from Scranton, Pennsylvania. His work has appeared or is forthcoming in DIAGRAM, Hobart, SmokeLong Quarterly, DIALOGIST and elsewhere. He received his BA from Vassar College and MFA from Oregon State University.
